Next gig: July 20 Festival Garbsen (Dld) 11:00 hours.
MarbleTones will stop at the end of 2008!
10-04-08: After six wonderful years playing together the MarbleTones decided to stop their musical cooperation by the end of 2008.
We’ve seen a lot of countries and played many stages. The United States, England, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands all know who the MarbleTones are. During our shows in all of these countries we’ve played great festivals and awesome blues clubs. We will never forget the great response everybody has giving us.
In the past six years we’ve made three albums. So the music and our enthusiasm will sound on forever.
We would like to thank everybody for their support in this past six years! Without that support the MarbleTones would never have been such a great band!
We sure hope to see you all again during one of our last show this year! Check out our giglist. Sincerely MarbleTones

U.K. performances.
03-02-08: It was a short, but an adventures weekend in the U.K.! After an early take off, and we mean an early take off, we finally arrived in the U.K. A-J had the pick up some goods in London and found out that we’ve lost the tarpaulin from our trailer. Anyways the weather was fine and all our cd’s and A-J’s shoes where still there. Late afternoon we arrived at the Plough. The Plough for us is like coming home. A beautiful old English pub owned by some fine people. After struggling with all kind off technical problems we started the gig. The first set wasn’t going without any problems. Ben’s amp sounded like an old T-Ford, Thumper was nagging about the narrow space he had, A-J was trying to find a good sound from his new build amp and Martin was looking unhappy ‘bout what was going on. After some adjustments (except for Thumper) it went really awesome. We would like to thank Dick and his family for having us at the Plough and for their great care. The next day we had to play the Anchor in Faversham, although that’s what A-J told us. We’ve asked A-J to call our promoter about the gig time. After some laughing and red cheeks he told us that we had to play the Three Horseshoes in Hernhill instead of the Anchor. Thank God Graham Bell invented the phone! The Three Horseshoes is not small, but LOW! So try to picture Martin with a double bass constantly stuck between the floor and a nasty beam. We had to start early because we faced a curfew. It was a pleasure playing for the second time this awesome bar. Although it's hard for us to deal with time schedules, we stopped exactly at the requested time. So no police, no neighbours, but a cheering crowd and a great night. We would like to thank Mick and family and the bar staff for giving us this memorable evening!
MarbleTones back in Europe!
17-11-07 After a long time of flying and waiting at the Philadelphia airport we’re home. For us this tour and the recording sessions was one of a great experience. Although we know how to play the blues and to set up a show it’s always a question whether people like you or don’t when you go to the country where the blues is founded. Also we couldn’t have done this without the help and work of some fine friends and people who knows the business out there! We would like to thank all the club owners and their staff for their corporation and their great care for us during this tour. Our appreciation goes out to; Catherine Sommer who did a great job, Dan Healey for his recording engineering and expertise, Jenny Kerr for being a wonderful host, the guys at S.I.R. for the gear, Jeanne and the staff at the Fort Mason Hostel for sheltering and their hospitality, Caroline Aiken for being there at the right time and her support, Ted and Lisa Cowden in Nevada city for their awesome hospitality, Jimmy Accardi at KVMR for having us on his radio show and all the people who came out to see the shows and the band they never heard of!
Our very special appreciation goes out to Phil Milner our partner in crime! Without the support of Phil we couldn’t have made this tour successful!

Successful UK shows
09-07-07 We had a great time in the UK during the weekend. There was a lot going on in the UK such as the tennis finals in Wimbledon, Formula 1 in Silverstone and the Tour de France. It didn’t look like a fair competition for us, but there were still a lot of music fans who showed up! We would like to thank Dave and Fran from The Anchor in Faversham and Dick and family at The Plough in Udimore for their great hospitality!

Tones in the Graanschuur
15-12-06 The Marbletones did their last gig of the year. Theo left the same night for a live cd recordings with Patrick Vining in Kansas City in the U.S.A. We dropped him off at Schiphol Airport at 5.00 am , he just made it in time to the gig. We hope everybody enjoyed our gigs in 2006. The MarbleTones have some interesting events coming up for 2007! Keep checking our Giglist regularly!
Snacks at Diever
15-10-06 The annual Diever gig is always a treat for the Marble Tones. The crowd is nice and from the second set the audience dances the night away. Afterwards the band is always treated to snacks. “There’s nothing like a frikandel (dutch snack) late at night!” AJ commented on the way back home. If you missed the Tones, on the 6th of October 2007 the Marble Tones play Diever (again…) Thanks for having us Jan and the rest!
Marble Tones rock the UK
03-10-06 The Marble Tones did a first short UK tour. From Thursday until Sunday the boys played in clubs in the south of England. The first gig was at the Oranges in Ashford. Bar owner Stuart apologized for the small crowd. “There is soccer on tv”, he explained. But it didn’t bother the Tones in the least, the people that came in were treated to some good old blues. “Next time we’ll fill up the bar, you deserve it!” Stuart told the band when they left. The Friday night gig was in the YpresCastle in Rye. The bar has some killer stairs that the band had to climb. ‘The place was small, but the crowd was sweet! All them smiling faces and them dancing feet’ At the Anchor in Faversham the Marble Tones were forced to quit playing after two short sets due to a curfew. So the band unplugged their instruments and did an acoustic set for the audience. The crowd loved it! After the show some of the bandmembers were treated to some story telling with a twist by two of the locals. If you get the chance, visit the Anchor and ask for a good story, they’ve got one! The last gig was at the Plough in Udimore. A small friendly place, with an even friendlier bar owner. The Tones did a memorable gig with a nice crowd with one dutch speaking English man. “The things you can learn at night school”, lead singer Martin commented. After the gig, the band was treated to a very nice dinner and some very bad weather. Thank you to all the clubs that had us and all the people who came to listen and dance. If you missed the Marble Tones, don’t worry the band will be back.
Tones interrupt Sunday silence at Blues Café
20-08-06 The Marble Tones have been reported to interrupt the sunday silence at the Blues Cafë Apeldoorn. After a relaxed first set, the Tones really took off. The audience danced the early Sunday night away as if it was the last dance they were going to do. It is not the first time that the Marble Tones played at the Blues Café, and it won't be the last. It's one of the best places to see the boys in action. So keep checking the giglist for a gig at the Blues Café or another venue near you and go see them live. Marble Tones' guitar player A-J was short in his comment about the night: 'Thanks for having us, Daniëlle and Jan. It was another great gig!'
Route 66 gets into it
19-08-06 Café bar Route 66 wasn't quite ready for that rocking MarbleTones sound (the mayor doesn't like loud music) but after the first set everybody got into it. Of course before AND after the gig, the boys had their fare share of dutch Bradwursten from the man next door. NICE! Thanks for having us Route 66, and good luck with your Mayor!
Marble Tones rock the house at Enschede festival
17-08-06 The MarbleTones turned 'Jansen & Jansen' into a 'Rockin' Zoo Bar' during the Enschede Blues Festival (check our guestbook!). People dancin', drinkin' and havin' a ball! A good kick off for the NiXBBBlues club's Giethoorn festival in the upcoming weekend.
Rain can't stop the Tones at Brielle Festival
30-07-06 The Marble Tones played the Brielle bluesfestival with and without rain. The audience didn't seem to mind, they were having a real good time! The two sets had a five minute break and that's when the rain really came down. Good timing! Thanks Brielle, for having us. Good crowd, good festival!
